The Home Energy Squad^® will come to your home and make it more efficient for you. We'll do things like swap out traditional bulbs for LED bulbs, install a thermostat for eligible customers, weather-strip one drafty door, and install energy-efficient showerheads and faucet aerators. Installation, labor and materials are free – a $200 value.

Details

This visit typically last two hours and offers professional installation of energy-saving equipment that may include:

LED bulbs
Weather-stripping for one external wooden door
Energy-efficient showerheads
Kitchen and bathroom faucet aerators
Water heater temperature check
Smart Thermostat with AC Rewards enrollment for eligible customers

Additional items are available for purchase during your visit, including:

Eligibility

Home Energy Squad^® Eligibility

To qualify for a visit with Home Energy Squad^®:

You must be a residential customer of Xcel Energy in Colorado.
Your home must have its own electric and/or gas utility account and must be a detached single-family home or part of a building with four or fewer units.
Installs offered depend on your home and the energy services you receive from Xcel Energy. For example, gas-only customers cannot receive LED bulbs and an electric-only customer with gas heated hot water cannot receive a showerhead.

Smart thermostats:

To qualify for a free smart thermostat, the following conditions must be met:
- Electricity service with Xcel Energy
- Central Air Conditioning
- Enrollment into Xcel Energy's AC Rewards program
Customers can also purchase a smart thermostat from Xcel Energy's online store that we can install, dependent on existing wiring. Thermostat must be in original, unopened packaging for installation.

Even if the above is met, installation is never guaranteed due to specific wiring situations.

Rental Property Eligibility:

Renters are eligible to participate in Home Energy Squad^®. Prior approval from the property owner/landlord is required.
